I've had an obsession with Carbon Fiber for a long time... have just loved everything about it, from it's unique and gorgeous appearance, to it's amazing material properties, helping enable better performance in cars, and now also in aviation. Take a look at a fun mod we've done with it!
Well, I finally got to handle some, and my imagination has gone wild, and being that I'm a huge fan of computer and console modding... the match was one made in heaven, and I commenced.
Full worklogs of the projects can be found at the Carbon Fiber Xbox 360 Worklog and the Carbon Fiber Xbox 360 Controller Worklog threads on the forums! We are considering creating video tutorials and assembling ready-to-go kits for doing these mods to your own Xbox 360/PS3/Computer, or whatever else you want to add that Unique Carbon Fiber look to! We are gauging this endeavor based upon if there is enough interest, so if you'd like to see something like that, let us know and we will try to make it happen!
Anyways, moving on! Since the worklog threads in the forums have all the nitty gritty details on how these were done, we will keep this article about displaying the work, and what better way than to provide you with a picture montage!
We will start with the Xbox 360 Controller!
I apologize for the fingerprints which make the edges look a bit blurry ;) (Can't help but touch it!)
(Note on this picture of the bottom: We normally also carbon fiber the battery box as well, as you can see on the controller on the next page!)
There have been several recommendations to finish these off with all-black furniture (bottom, dpads, and joysticks), and we plan to try one of these soon!
The Xbox 360 Shell is showcased on the next page!
