Cooler Master CM Storm Sentinel Z3RO-G Twin Laser Gaming Mouse Review

Final Thoughts

Overall, we found the Sentinel Z3RO-G to be very comfortable and accurate. The provided script editor opens up endless possibilities for executing complex commands with a single click, and applying clan logos to the crystal clear OLED is a breeze. Anyone who hasn't previously owned a Sentinel Advance will love using the Z3RO-G. But those who have already played with the Z3RO-G's predecessor may be disappointed by the lack of upgrades. While Cooler Master has fixed the problems that plagued the original twin laser system, doubled the amount of onboard memory, and given the mouse a different skin, the Z3RO-G is the same animal.  We found the sensitivity setting readout to be very helpful, in case you forgot the particular settings in a given profile, and the OLED screen looks great.  The software offers much versatility to make it work for you in games with macros or fine-tuned sensitivity settings, and is certainly a top-notch gaming peripheral.

The Good

The Bad

  • Comfortable
  • Highly customizable
  • Ease of DPI and profile switching
  • OLED readout of sensitivity settings
  • Simple control panel with tons of options
  • Subtle illumination which corresponds to a selected profile
  • Extra set of replacement teflon feet
  • Few hardware changes make it difficult to justify an upgrade from the Sentinel Advance
  • Thumb buttons are somewhat difficult to reach for those with shorter hands
