Cooler Master CM Storm Quick Fire Rapid Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

"Retro" has become a stylish theme as of late, but not nearly as often is it a functional change.  Mechanical keyboards, the stereotypical "clickety-clackety" style which have since all but vanished, have made a strong resurgence in the gaming community for their fast response times and haptic and/or audible feedback.  Mechanical gaming keyboards have slowly made a resurgence, but they've also been associated with a hefty price tag.  Coolermaster's CM Storm gaming line is offering its first mechanical gaming keyboard, the Quick Fire Rapid, which is a functional, key-riddled slab with a price tag more in-line with other gaming keyboards.

Gamers are now able to have an all-encompassing CM Storm experience. The CM Storm QuickFire Rapid is a high-grade mechanical keyboard that employs the best selection of Cherry MX Switches available. It is positioned as a premium quality keyboard with an attractive value proposition. It features a minimalistic design inspiration that makes it both an affordable step into using mechanical keyboards and worthy of competitive use.

The box (which was surprisingly small) is adorned in CM Storm's red/black color scheme and their signature "swirls" of their emblem.  Our of the box, the keyboard itself arrives with a user manual, a removable braided USB cable, a keycap puller, two Cooler Master-branded keycaps, and "WASD" replacement caps with arrows on the tops, which are red in color.
