Kingston HyperX Red - 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz Memory Kit Review (KHX16C9B1RK2/8)

Which will it be? Blue pill or red pill? Kingston now offers purchasers of its entry-level HyperX blu DIMMs a choice between the two classic colors. HyperX red is offered in 2GB-16GB flavors operating at up to 1600MHz. We'll be putting the 2x4GB - DDR3 1600MHz CL9 kit to the test today, maybe even learning some Kung Fu in the process.

Kingston's simple packaging is a cinch to open up and does a good job of showing off these red hot DIMMs. Given that you only need to slice a single band of tape, it's not the most protective packaging in the world, but tampering aside they'll be fine. The sticks share their packaging with a warranty and installation guide.
