NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Review

Benchmarks - Battlefield 3

Battlefield 3 is a gorgeous game, not only visually, but with an impressive sound engine as well.  Typical for the Battlefield franchise, it's a power-hungry, as my rememberance of the BF2 "upgrade wave" will attest to.  It's a gorgeous game with expansive environments with fantastic lighting and destruction physics on the Frostbite 2 Engine.

*9800GT running in lower DirectX compatibility mode

We see some of our best results when running Battlefield 3, less about the 23.1% improvement of the GTX 660 over the GTX 560Ti, but more because the minimum framerates are nearly as high as the average framerate of the GTX 560 Ti.  This means you won't be getting crippling momentary frame drops and the overall framerate had fewer extremes.  The 9800GT fell behind significantly, and barely ran the game, being almost 8 times slower than the 9800GT.
