Akasa Venom Voodoo Universal CPU Cooler Review - Final Thoughts

Final Thoughts

Overall, Akasa's Venom Voodoo combines many of the best lessons in the industry for optimal cooling performance, and put it together in a package that I like to describe as having "character."  The push-pull fan configuration is a great inclusion out of the box, six exposed heatpipes work great to transport heat quickly and efficiently straight from the cores, and an intuitive and easy mounting system make the Voodoo a great cooler.  It has performed as well as any cooler we've tested on our new test machine, and even surpassed Coolermaster's Hyper 612 PWM.  And priced at around $60, it should give a great performance/price ratio.  It's been a year since we last saw a cooler from Akasa which put them on our radar, and roughly a year later, they certainly have not disappointed, and have a delivered a great cooler.

  • Intuitive, easy to use installation system
  • Universal compatibility
  • Attractive "cap" on tower
  • Two high quality Viper fans included for push-pull
  • Good performance/price

  • Clearance (particularly RAM clearance) is something to be wary of
