Coolermaster Notepal X-Slim Notebook Cooler Review - Testing and Final Thoughts

The X-Slim definitely does a good job at keeping notebook temps down.  I wasn't able to make it through a full stress test (only the CM Storm SF-19 has been able to achieve that), but, in general, fan speeds were way down, and the surface temperature of the notebook was drastically reduced.  Lower internal fan speeds means longer life for your notebook, and even in a passive mode, fan speeds were also down by a noticeable margin.  The lightweight nature makes using it on your lap a much more pleasant experience (and helps prevent some of the harmful issues known with using a notebook directly on your lap).  The large, 160mm fan is very quiet, and its large size means it can push a large amount of air at lower RPMs, and thus much lower noise levels.  Overall, a light, slim cooler that packs a punch for its size and weight.

It also has enough size that it snuggles in nicely under my HP DV9000 series 17-inch notebooks, as the edges of the squares off "X" extends its profile enough to adequately accommodate a 17-inch laptop without adding a large amount of bulk to it.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the X-Slim strikes a great balance between, size, portability, raw cooling performance, and weight.  It's large enough to comfortably accommodate 17-inch laptops, light and slim enough to ride alongside your notebook wherever you take it without you noticing it's t here, and "airy" enough to work great as a silent passive cooling solution.  It's extendable feet will shift your notebook into a more comfortable position, add cooling clearance, and allow you to use your notebook on soft surfaces without risking overheating.  Built-in cable management with USB stowage makes it convenient to move around, especially if you don't want to use the fan on the cooler.  Overall, probably the best all-around notebook cooler, because of the balance it finds between a wide array of uses from high performance, large 17-inch notebooks to the mobile user.

It really looks thin, the design is okay. But anyway Im looking for effective and silent one and it has it here. SO this is thumbs up plus its lightweight.
