The GTX 560 Ti burst onto the scene as the successor to the highly-successful GTX 460, unleashing the potential of the GF104 chip. The GTX 560 Ti quickly became Nvidia's new value king, offering solid performance, great overclocking potential, and an affordable price tag. ASUS' GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II is a fully non-reference design, with vastly upgraded power delivery components, an aesthetically-pleasing appearance, and their top-notch dual 80mm fan DIrectCU II cooling system.
ASUS Exclusive Features
ASUS' GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II includes a high-quality PCB, VRM, and non-reference components. Reference power delivery components are replaced with their Super Alloy Power (SAP) designs. ASUS's design also boasts top-of-the-line acoustic and thermal performance with their DirectCU II (we'll refer to as DCUII for simplicity), which helps ensure you can make the most of your graphics card without the annoyance of a noisy fan or the performance-limiting temperature increases. These design implementations go beyond the spec sheet, and we'll dive into them in more detail in the coming pages.
Super Alloy Power (SAP)
ASUS' SAP technology replaces the reference capacitors, chokes (inductors), and MOSFETs which lead to more efficient, reliable, and durable power delivery.
DirectCU II
Using technology which has been widely accepted in CPU cooling for its thermal transfer efficienciy, ASUS' DirectCU II uses large copper heatpipes which are machined to contact the GPU directly to quickly transport heat to the fins, where you fans can swiftly carry it away. Two fans push heat away from the fins, and it leads to cooler and quieter performance all-around.
GPU Tweak
GPU Tweak is ASUS' implementation for a professional-level overclocking utility, but has options to make it easy to use for even the newest of overclockers. The monitoring tools and built-in GPU-z utility make it a great all-around overclocking solution. Fully user-defined fan profiles, independent voltage control, and expanded overclock range options all make GPU Tweak a powerful, yet simple and intuitive, overclocking package.
